Hey Folks,
Yesterday, I told you about the potential for some Snow on Friday.
Perhaps as much as 10 cm.
Well, 24 hours later and it looks like most of the computer models are now on the same page. A big area of high pressure will sink down from the Prairies into Ontario... and should be strong enough to bump a low pressure system coming out of the U.S... South of the Great Lakes.
The GFS has been coming up with this solution for the last 2 or 3 runs.
The Canadian Model.... which was one of the first to jump on the Sunny Friday bandwagon... today shows a close call... but still sticks to it's guns.
The NAM model is the last model to jump on board with the idea of this system passing to the South. But it now too... on it's latest run this afternoon... is also in agreement.
So some good news for those of you... who are sick and tired of shovelling.
ANTARCTICA ICE SHELF
I'm not sure if you've heard about this story or not. But it's quite remarkable.
A huge chunk of ice... the size of Montreal or Manhattan has broken off of the ice shelf in Antarctica.
Here's the whole story from the BBC.
And
Here's even more information from BBC World News.
If you can't watch the videos... check out this article from cbc.ca

Hi Ryan,
I enjoy your TV forecasts (most important part of the news in my books) and thanks for the Arctic ice sheet video... so I'm sorry to say that I think 'mussels' in your title should be 'muscles', unless you're making some sort of pun relating to a system coming from the East Coast that I don't know about. I'm sure you'd want to make it right.
Thanks for the weather info, karen
i want glober warming to stop!
